Frequently Asked Questions
What does wet hire mean in construction?
Wet hire means renting machinery along with a qualified operator. The hire company provides both the equipment and an experienced professional to operate it safely and efficiently. This service is ideal for complex or large-scale projects where skilled handling, safety compliance and time efficiency are essential to keeping work on schedule and within budget.
When should I choose wet hire over dry hire?
Wet hire is best when projects require skilled operation or have tight deadlines. It’s the right choice for earthmoving, trenching, site preparation and any task needing precision. Hiring an operator reduces risk, ensures correct equipment use, and helps complete work faster – especially for clients without the licences or time to operate machinery.
Do wet hire operators bring their own attachments and tools?
Yes, wet hire operators typically bring all required attachments and tools for the job. This can include augers, grabs, spreader bars or buckets, depending on the task. Having the right accessories on hand ensures efficiency and accuracy, allowing the operator to complete multiple site tasks without needing separate hire arrangements.
